This project transformed the clients’ backyard into a multi-functional outdoor living space, blending aesthetic appeal with practical elements for year-round enjoyment. The client’s primary objective was to expand the space by adding a screen porch, patio, and grill surround. This included upgrading the aging deck and closing the area to create a comfortable 3-season living room. We opted for a low knee wall to create a room-like atmosphere, Ply bead ceiling, and kiln-dried flooring for warmth and intimacy. The space protects from the insects & elements and creates an indoor-outdoor feel.
The patio and grill surround space features Techo-Bloc Smooth Blu 60 pavers and the Mini Creta wall block for the seat wall and grill surround. For overall convenience storage and counter-height seating were added, leaving plenty of patio space for a Big Green Egg cooker.
Low voltage lighting was integrated into the landscape deck steps and the capstones of the seat wall for ambiance, enhanced aesthetic, and safety.
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
A combination of limestone and bluestone was used as an accent in the hearth and mantle fireplace design.
Our challenge was to source parts for the older existing fireplace resulting in an installation of a see-though fireplace that is now frequently used.
