The Swann Trail project at Riverwood Athletic Club in Clayton involved creating a comprehensive landscape and hardscape design for the homeowners. They aimed to enhance their newly installed fiberglass pool with an inviting and warm outdoor environment. At the center of this project is a rustic cedar pavilion that encloses a bar, fireplace, and outdoor grill. The extended side roof overhang offers protection from the elements for the bar-height seating area.
The outdoor fire pit can accommodate 12 to 14 people, offering flexible seating due to the yard’s slope and pool location. The design incorporated a lower retaining wall that was constructed to level the area around the pool.
The design included a full landscape package with sod, ornamental plants, trees, evergreens, shrubs, and privacy plantings to create a warm and inviting ambiance.
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
The landscape design highlights the pool’s curvy shape, emphasizing its organic feel. The addition of the pool heater transformed this space into a year-round outdoor living area.
