This project successfully turned a limited outdoor area into a dynamic and fully equipped backyard oasis, catering to entertainment needs and family activities. Originally the backyard featured a walkout basement opening to a concrete patio under a deck and screen porch, which was cozy but not optimally functional or inviting.
A large under-deck entertainment area was fitted with recessed lighting and fans, an 85-inch TV, and an L-shaped outdoor kitchen featuring a Kamado Joe and Blaze grill, with seating for nine.
The homeowners added a hot tub that is protected by a modern horizontal slat privacy wall. For more entertainment, an in-ground trampoline was also installed.
Comprehensive landscaping including boulders, an array of shrubs, trees, bushes, and flowering plants were added and illuminated by strategically designed low-voltage lighting.
DESIGN HIGHLIGHTS
The design took advantage of natural slopes to incorporate the patio, keeping a flat yard area for recreational activities. Height adjustments were made to connect different levels, including steps and walkways linking the driveway, deck, and patio.
